Tennis Tournament Brings Out the Competitive Spirit of BMI Executive MBA Alumni

Alumni representing nine different BMI Executive MBA cohorts competed in the first-ever BMI Alumni Tennis Tournament on Saturday, demonstrating their expertise on the court, supporting each other on the sidelines and getting better acquainted with BMI graduates from other years.

“It was a wonderful day, both for the 20 alumni who competed and for all the others who came to watch,” said BMI Alumni Association President Vaiva Tylienė, praising EMBA Class VI (2004-2006) for showing the most active participation.

“The doubles final was an especially heated and intriguing battle,” Tylienė noted.

The duet of Imantas Čepulis and Gintaras Varnas, both from EMBA Class VI, ultimately prevailed in the doubles competition. Imantas Čepulis also took first place in the Singles Advanced grouping, while victory in the Beginners category went to Vaidotas Lenktys of EMBA Class XII.

“Everyone agreed that the tournament was a great chance not only to test their skills on the tennis court (for some it was their very first tournament), but also to get to know alumni from other classes. And everyone said this event should become an annual tradition,” Vaiva Tylienė said.
