FIRST MEETING ON NEW TRENDS IN HR & LEADERSHIP: THE BATTLE FOR TALENT

The new BMI Alumni series of meetings on new trends in HR and leadership kicked off on Wednesday. More than 20 alumni gathered at the premises of Danske Bank for a session with Jurgita Lemešiūtė-Frejienė (EMBA Class XV), an expert in recruitment, executive search and employee assessment.

In her presentation, Jurgita reviewed current challenges in the labour market, and especially the difficulties of attracting and retaining top talent. Drawing on global research data and her own experience, she offered tips in practical areas such as using social media to reach candidates, creating an attractive Employer Value Proposition that shows “what you really are”, and keeping employees highly motivated and engaged.

In a lively discussion, participants examined the importance of a company’s image in the labour market as competition for talent heats up, and specific ways to make progress here.

It is clear that when you attract talented people, you need to know how to manage them. That is why the second meeting in this series will focus on Authentic Leadership. The guest speaker for the event will be Remigijus Savickas. He will share insights on some best practices and introduce a new concept of authentic leadership. You can find more information about that upcoming event here.
