BMI Alumni converge in Dzukija for a fabulous Summer Adventure

Summer would not be summer for BMI alumni without the now deeply-rooted tradition of the BMI Alumni Summer Adventure. The 2016 edition took place July 17 and, by all accounts, was one of the most exciting and enjoyable ever. More than 60 alumni and family members, organized in 13 teams, gathered near Druskininkai for a day enjoying nature, culture, competition and friendship.

The participants of this 7th annual Summer Adventure got to know Dzukija National Park in the course of an orientation challenge. They visited the Merkine pyramid, the Čepkeliai bog, a number of ethnographic villages and more. Some also gathered mushrooms and berries along the way.

In fact, it was a team named after mushrooms that won first place in the competition (thus also earning the honour of organizing next year’s Summer Adventure).

The winners were:

1st place – TEAM LEPEŠKOS (chanterelles): Milda Kutaitė (EMBA VI) with Gražvydas Žemaitis and Rasa Lapinskaitė (EMBA XI) with her son Augustas Lapinskas. Congratulations!

2nd place – TEAM UOGOS (berries): Valerija Buzėnienė, Laura Ambrutienė, Živilė Valeišienė and Ligita Ramanauskaitė (all from EMBA XIII).

3rd place – DREAM TEAM: Artūras Abromavičius (EMBA IV) together with his wife Dalia Abromavičienė and Gintautas Vaičius (EMBA XV) with his wife Karolina Vaičienė.

Photos from the event can be found (and shared) here.

The organizers are especially thankful to the sponsors who provided snacks and beverages for the participants and awarded the winners of the competition with great prizes:
